  • How do I join? Open or Close

    It’s a really simple process – and it can all be handled on the website.

    Go to the home page and click on ‘join here’ from the home screen, choose the Actif Fitness Gym you want to join, select your type of membership, and away you go.

  • What happens if I have problems while I’m trying to join? Open or Close

  • Which membership is best for me? Open or Close

    If you are thinking of joining as an individual and want unlimited access to our gyms, classes and swimming pools, the following would be suitable: (Corp Plat and Plat). If you just want to use the pools, we also offer unlimited swim memberships: (Corp Bronze and Bronze) ... We also offer an excellent household package, where up to 2 adults and 4 children can get unlimited access to gyms, classes and swiming pools for a total of just £40 per month!

    Actif Household - £41.00 per month (covers all individuals living at the same address T&C’s apply)

    Platinum - £33.00 per month (individual member)

    Corporate Platinum - £28.00 (CCC employees and affiliated companies / organizations only T&C’s apply)

  • What is Actif Household ? Open or Close

    This membership is geared to help reach our vision of having ‘More people More active More often’ The Actif household membership cover’s all individuals living in the same household, whether you are related or not.

    At £41.00 per month, that's just £1.35 per day! You can use all of our Actif Fitness gyms and we throw classes in as well.

    An admin fee of £30.00 applies, or if you wish to upgrade an existing membership to Actif household a £20.00 admin fee applies.

  • This is a fantastic offer, what is the catch? Open or Close
    There is no catch! No contract, and membership you can put on hold from the members' area just complete the freeze form and take to reception on your next visit, and hey presto it’s done.
  • Can I choose a swimming only membership? Open or Close

    Yes, we offer a bronze membership which covers swimming in all public sessions.

    Bronze - £23.00

    Corporate Bronze - £20.50 (T&C’s apply)

  • Do I pay a joining fee? Open or Close

    No, although all our gym memberships incur a one off admin fee.

    The admin charges are £30.00 for household membership and £15.00 for all other gym memberships.

    If you decide to upgrade to the household membership then a £20.00 admin fee applies.

  • How do I pay? Open or Close

    Payable by monthly direct debit.

  • Can we pay by cash or card? Open or Close

    Actif Fitness Gym’s accept cash as well as most major bank cards. Pro rata payments and the Admin fee can be purchased with VISA Credit, VISA Debit, Visa Electron, MasterCard and Maestro.

  • Can I go to classes? Open or Close

    Your gym membership gives you access to over 100 classes per week across 5 Actif Fitness sites.

  • How do I book a place in a class? Open or Close

    It’s a really simple process – and it can all be handled on the website.

    Click on ‘book here’ from the home screen, choose the Actif Fitness Gym you want to attend, select the day and class you want to attend and away you go. You’ll be booked in just a few minutes, a confirmation email will be sent to you in seconds.

  • Will somebody show me how to use the gym machines? Open or Close

    Customers who join an Actif Gym membership will also receive a free induction to the equipment and a personalized training programme. You will need to book an induction at the Actif Fitness Gym that you choose to use.

  • Do I have to pay for an induction? Open or Close
    No, the induction fee is included in the admin fee applicable for your membership.
  • What do I wear when using the Gym? Open or Close

    It is a requirement that all members wear appropriate exercise attire and footwear at all times when attending an Actif Fitness Gym. Don't forget to bring a towel!

  • What is the minimum age to join the Gym? Open or Close

    You need to be 14 years old to join the gym, but parent or guardian consent is required when joining and during gym induction.
    Children aged 13 years can also go to the gym, but must be accompanied by an adult.

  • What does ‘no contract’ mean? Open or Close
    You are not contractually tied to us for any specified period of time. That means complete freedom to cancel at any time, with no penalties.
  • Can I cancel my membership? Open or Close
    You are not contractually tied to us for any specified period of time. That means complete freedom to cancel at any time, with no penalties at all. Monthly fees are payable in advance, we do not refund any amounts where you may have cancelled part way through the month.
  • Do you offer discount for Students and Older Adults? Open or Close

    Yes, we offer student and 60+ discounts (T&C’s apply)

    Student membership

    Is available to student card holders, once verification proof has been provided to your local leisure centre. This offers you a discounted price of £25.00 a month this is 27% below normal rates - so there is always a saving to be had! Student membership covers an academic period from 1st October until 30th September of the following year. If you wish to rejoin it is easy just present your verification proof for the coming academic year and your membership will be renewed at the current student membership rate.

    You can join at any time during the year, but your membership will need to be renewed by the 1st October of each year.

    And when you join The Gym there’s no contract to sign either. You can freeze your Gym membership if money gets a bit too tight for comfort, or if you’re heading home at the end of the semester. If you live in Carmarthenshire and there is an Actif Gym in your home town as well as your university town, you can use them both for the same price.

    60+ Membership

    Is available to members that are aged 60 or over, once verification of DOB has been provided to your local leisure centre. This offers you a discounted price of £25.00 per month this is 27% below normal rates.

  • What does the Actif Fitness Gym membership not include? Open or Close
    The memberships do not include swimming lessons, club swimming, facility hire or sport specific activities.
  • What is multi-site membership? Open or Close

    All memberships have the option for members to use all Leisure Centre’s within Carmarthenshire as well as Llandovery swimming complex at no extra costs. (Please note this excludes Newcastle Emlyn swimming pool).

    You will be granted access to all Actif Gyms in Carmarthenshire at no extra cost.

  • When does the first month’s payment come out of my bank? Open or Close

    Your first payment will be collected at reception on the 1st day after signing up, this will cover the period from signing up until the 1st direct debit payment is taken from your bank and will include the admin fee; Subsequent monthly payments will be debited on the 1st of the month and will continue on or just after the same day of each month thereafter.

  • Do you have a gym in St Clears? Open or Close

    Yes we do.  It has recently undergone a refurbishment and has a great 'community feel'. There is a one-site membership option at £20.50, although members have the option of taking out the household membership (see above for details).
